The doctors and nurses that work there are awesome. This complaint is about the toll parking. People are already upset visiting sick family or friends and this hospital takes advantage of that which is pathetic. Get rid of your pizza fund and remove these tolls. How can you take advantage of the emotions of people in hard times. Its sick. A friend visited to say goodbye to his best friend. When he left he didn't have change so in a state of emotional grief he had to go back in and get change. Half the hospitals in Canada don't charge for parking and the other half do. Amherst makes people pay. We pay enough taxes and inflation and the Amherst hospital doesn't care. REMOVE THE TOLLS!!!!!!!!!

The nite before were at The George Dumont Hospital in Moncton. No one to great us I had to look for someone and he said take a number . We did get scene by a triage nurse who was nice but the waiting room was small and unpleasant . The wait would have been 10-20 hrs .
When we arrived here at Amherst we were welcomed by a greater who directed us . They had someone asking us are u guys scene can we help from all angles . They are so wonderful! We are now waiting for the doctor in a bright and positive atmosphere 🙂 so many smiles here .

THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IS EXCELLENT BUT THE MEFICAL UNIT is a nightmare,I took a stroke, 3 days later they moved me to a room for visitors ,with a washroom and sink, then puts a man in this same room, who was walking around naked, then they put a homeless woman in after moving him,and she kept taking her purse in the washroom doing needles. Not once was I given physiotherapy, Because I could swallow, the nurse told me that's why she moved me.This unit is a joke then I was told no physio for at least 3 months, no services offered to myself as a stroke victim, only to use my walker for 3 months.Very rude nurses on the medical unit.I felt discriminated against by the nurses, and put a man in my room, again who was named.if I ever have to go there again,I will sign myself out,and go to another hospital. The medical unit was a nightmare for me.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Day surgery today and a wonderful thank you to the Gyeno doctor her name is Dr. Deanne Malenfant.

It was really hard to come in for a D&C after a miscarriage but I knew that I needed to go this route as I emotionally couldn't handle this at home. Thank you for answering all my questions and helping me with my worries.

Thank you to everyone who helped me today Anesthesiologist, Nurses, Etc. Everyone was so kind and caring. When I broke down and cried in the OR I knew that I would be okay but in that moment I knew I no longer had to deal with this alone.

Thank you for helping me with everything. You guys are wonderful

I arrived early morning on Nov 25th, my doctor was out of the office but I needed a cortisone shot to deal with what was diagnosed in August as hip bursitis (had to wait for shot because of another treatment I was on) Dr on call Dr Gagnon saw me it was a very light day for people needed emerge. Not only did he give me the shot what was more important was he referred me to an orthopedic surgeon in New Glasgow who discovered an issue with my thigh bone. If not for Dr Gagnon I would still be in pain treating something it wasn't.

Terrible wait times. My wife was here with our three year old. He put a tooth through his lip and needed stitches. Waited for over 5 hours before he was too over tired and unable to sleep before she left. Got help the following day from a different hospital.
I have now been waiting for over 7 hours suspecting I may have appendicitis. And have watched multiple people come and go with far less wait times. However they are judging severity of injury is ridiculous.

The only way to recieve prompt help is to arrive by ambulance.

After 7 hours of waiting and listening to staff laugh an discuss patients issues, I finally had a "Dr" come see me. Didn't look at my injury, had a chuckle to himself after pointing out I no longer have a family Dr (retired). Never asked about medications until I pulled out what I was already prescribed to then indicated he doesn't have authority to put me off work so I can have 2 broken wisdom teeth surgically removed?
